Who is writing this
myQRMenu is one of the products on this page. That is a reason to read the comparison sceptically, not a reason for us to pretend otherwise, so the structure is built to be checkable: every price is linked to the vendor's own pricing page, and every product has a section saying when to pick it over us.
The three categories
Most buying mistakes in this market are category mistakes rather than vendor mistakes. There are three kinds of product wearing the same name.
| Category | What it does | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|
| View-only menu | Guest scans, browses, then orders from a server | Table-service restaurants, cafés, bars, hotels |
| Order-enabled | Guest scans, browses, and places the order themselves | Fast casual, high-volume, venues cutting service labour |
| QR platform | Manages codes and scan analytics across campaigns; the menu is one use case | Multi-brand marketers who print codes on many things |
The question that resolves it: do you want the guest to place their own order? If the answer is no — because your service model is a server taking the order, and that is the experience you sell — then an order-enabled platform is a more expensive product whose main feature you will switch off.
The comparison
| Product | Category | Entry price | Free tier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Menubly | View-only + mini site | $9.99/mo, or $7.99/mo billed annually ($95.99/yr) | Yes — free forever |
| myQRMenu | View-only, data-heavy | $19/mo per location ($180/yr) | No — trial only |
| MENU TIGER | Order-enabled | $17/mo (2 stores, 15 tables each) | Yes — 1 store, 10 codes, capped orders |
| GloriaFood | Order-enabled | Free core; add-ons from $19/mo | Yes — unlimited orders and locations |
| UpMenu | Order-enabled + marketing | $49/mo (75 orders) | No |
| Flowcode | QR platform | $25/mo billed annually (50 codes) | Yes — 2 codes, 500 scans |
The entry prices are not comparable on their own, because the units differ. MENU TIGER counts stores and tables. UpMenu counts orders. Flowcode counts codes and scans. We count locations. Read the unit before the number.
GloriaFood — free ordering, paid extras
The core product is free, with unlimited orders, unlimited locations, and no commission per order. Revenue comes from add-ons: a POS at $49 a month per location on a two-year commitment, card payment processing at $29 a month, and promotion tools at $19 a month.
Pick it over us if
You need online and on-premise ordering and you do not want a subscription for the basics. "Free, unlimited orders, no commission" is a real offer, and it is a better deal than paying us for a product that does not take orders at all.
Read the commitment
The POS add-on is quoted against a two-year term, which is a longer lock-in than anything else on this page.
Flowcode — when the code itself is the product
A QR platform rather than a menu platform: code design, landing pages, scan analytics, and CRM integrations. Free for two codes and 500 scans, $25 a month billed annually for fifty codes and 6,000 scans, $250 a year for the Growth tier, and custom pricing above that.
Pick it over us if
You print codes on many things — packaging, campaigns, signage, events — and the menu is one of them. Its design controls for the code are stronger than anything a menu product offers.
Where it stops
The menu itself. It manages the code and the page; the structured item data, allergens, translations, and currencies are not what it is for.
Where we fit, and where we do not
myQRMenu is $19 a month per location for Starter and $39 for Pro, billed in USD, with annual pricing at $180 and $372. It is a view-only live menu behind a dynamic code, built around the menu data rather than around ordering.
Pick us when
- The menu data is the hard part: all fourteen EU allergen categories recorded per item, with dietary flags, reviewed and approved by a person.
- You serve guests in several languages, including Arabic with right-to-left layout.
- You show prices in more than one currency, entered by you rather than converted at a live rate you never agreed to.
- You want the guest menu to be an indexable page that can rank for your own name, not a PDF.
Do not pick us when
- You want guests to order or pay from their phones. We do not do it, and a competitor here does it properly.
- You need POS or kitchen display integration. We have none.
- Your budget is zero. Our trial ends; Menubly's free tier does not.
- You want a long track record. We are new, we have not collected reviews, and we do not publish invented ones. That is a legitimate reason to choose an established product.
Questions to ask before you sign anything
- What happens to my printed QR code if I cancel? If the code points at the vendor's domain and they will not redirect it, cancelling means reprinting every table. Ask us this too.
- What is the unit of pricing — locations, tables, orders, or scans? The unit decides what growth costs.
- Can I export my menu data, and in what format?
- Is the guest menu a real web page, or a PDF behind a link? This determines whether it can be read aloud by a screen reader or indexed by a search engine.
- How are allergen and nutrition values handled — entered, imported, or generated? If generated, who approves them before a guest sees them?
- What is the contract term? One of the products here quotes a two-year commitment on an add-on.
The first question is the one most buyers skip and the one with the largest bill attached. It is covered in static vs dynamic QR codes for restaurant menus.
